Everyday since the first day they started working on our house if they aren’t working I ask my mom why and I think she is probably getting really annoyed!! :) They got the footings and the walls poured and backfilled in. Now they have to do a little plumbing and electrical work before they can pour the floors and start framing! WE CAN’T WAIT! WE ARE GETTING SO EXCITED!!!!

Top 10 Things to get used to while living in a camper!!

Kitchen/Eating Area/Living Room
Mom and Dad's Room
Shower and Parent's Bathroom
Mine and Sever's room
Mine and Sever's Bathroom (No shower)

10. Smoke alarm--can’t even make toast without it going off
9. Propane oven--burnt pizza on bottom, but still raw on top
8. Blowing fuses--too many appliances at one time (3 or more)
7. Short showers--5 minute showers before the water gets cold, that means its hard to shave your legs.
6. Hogan’s Heroes--Dad’s addiction! He keeps recording them on our DVR. :(
5. No phone/internet--thank goodness for cell phones/neighbors!!!
4. Short beds--even for our short family, our feet touch the wall at the end of the bed
3. Hard/thin mattresses--like sleeping on hard cement floors
2. Camper shaking--every time you walk across the floor or jump on the bed it shakes
1. LITTLE SPACE--too much togetherness!!

Hired!!!!

The end of May came around and we finally hired a builder.

The Waiting Game!.

We ended up staying in a motel for about two weeks before we got our camper and electricity and water hooked up to it! Talk about sick of motels!!! The drive to school from Fargo and to Fargo from school everyday got really old!!! The first month or so was chaos. It seemed like parents were on the phone the whole time, and when they wanted to try to relax they had to shut off their phones. We would go to Oakes to stay with Grandparents on weekends so we could just get away and try not to think about it. My dad was getting impatient with the fire investigator because he kept asking the same questions over and over then he would ask our neighbors the same questions over and over, but never asked if anyone smoked which everybody thought was kind of odd. It took about two weeks before we got the okay to demolish our house. They only thing that they knew that started the fire was that it was in the garage and it had to do with electrical, they couldn’t tell what though because it was too burnt. It took one long and tiring Saturday to tear it down with lots and lots of help from family and friends! Now it was time to find a builder to rebuild our house. There goes another two months that we had to just wait patiently. Staying in the camper during week days and then usually going to Oakes on the weekends.

When we got to our house Sunday, I couldn’t believe how burnt it was. I thought I knew how it was, but I was so shocked when I saw that only a few walls were still standing. I went to my room and thought that I would be able to find some of my things that I could still keep, but came to it that I couldn’t find anything that wasn’t burnt. Family and Friends spent this day with us trying to find things we could keep and getting things we would need right away. We stayed at Best Western Kelly Inn and Suites that night, and a few more also.
